Biomaterials and dental materials applied to direct and indirect techniques. Precision of molding techniques and materials. Knowledge of dental materials applied to dentistry fields. Relation to physicochemical, mechanical, and biological properties. Development of critical judgment regarding indication and application.
Stomatognathic system. Basic mandibular positions and movements. Centric relation, maximum habitual intercuspation, central occlusion relation, vertical dimension of occlusion, vertical dimension of rest, protrusion, semi-adjustable articulator, temporomandibular pain and dysfunction, and occlusal adjustment.
Importance of operating X-ray equipment. Biological effects and protection against X-rays. Processing. Radiographic techniques. Methods for locating and interpreting radiographs. Study of existing techniques for taking intraoral radiographs. Basics of radiographic interpretation of the maxillomandibular structures. Study of films and radiographic processing.
Concept, purposes, and classification; indications, contraindications, and biomechanical principles of preparations for full crowns on anterior teeth. Partial dental preparations; principles of provisional restorations; materials and molding techniques; models and dies; maxillomandibular records and relationships; ceramic systems and cementations.
Concept, purposes and classification, indications and contraindications, conceptual philosophy of total and partial edentulism, components of a removable prosthesis, clinical examination, aesthetics, insertion plan, use of the articulator and occlusion in removable prosthesis, repairs and relinings. Introduction to precision and semi-precision attachments. Guidance for patients wearing removable prostheses.
Principles of implant-supported prosthesis. Components for implant-supported prosthesis. Types of implant platforms. Reverse and digital planning. Characteristics of implant-supported prosthetic systems.
Purposes, concepts, classifications, indications, and contraindications. Introduction to the study of impressions in complete dentures, boxing of the molds, articulator plates, wax rims, intermaxillary relations, mounting of models on the articulator, occlusion, selection and mounting of anterior and posterior teeth. Waxing and sculpting.
Concept, purposes and classification, indications and contraindications, basic elements for total crown planning, cervical finish line of preparation, instruments necessary for dental preparation, preparation for total crowns, provisional total crowns, and impression in single-unit prosthesis.
Preparation and presentation of the Course Completion Work.
